i'm gonna actually respong to this Q.

the gracies are primarily BJJ/self defense players. they are not the greatest stand up sport players (ex. throws, etc.)

with judo rules they would probably get thrown for an ippon (instant win). end of story. look at the footage of helio vs. kato. kato throws him beautifully (a probable win with judo rules), but helio eventually chokes him out.

even if they can get the opponent to the ground, they would be stood up (judo rules) after a few seconds if MAJOR aggression is not displayed. another chance for the judo player to toss him for a win.

to sum up... it's NOT their game (stand up) and it's NOT what they train for. they're PRIMARILY ground fighters and with judo rules they wouldn't be given much of an opportunity to "work".
