It’s going BIG on Friday. Rumor has it they just called off the Quicksilver contest at Mav’s because they figure its going so big no one will be able to paddle in. I potentially have a ride out to Todos. Pulled the gun out of the rafters a couple of nights back and I’ve had butterflies ever since. The wife doesn’t dig it. Says a father of two has no business doing this shit. I still haven’t decided…

Sweeeet!
I Don't know the swell pattern in Ca, but since Mavs is going haywire, does that mean Todos and such is gonna get hit, and how big is it going to be?
Mick, only advice I can give you is if you're not sure, don't go out, otherwise enjoy...
I'm still keeping my eye on Ohio river. Rumor has it this massive Russian barge is going to pass by any day, and when it does, we might get some Waimea size sets over here (river, that is)

I Just might pull out the ole board myself
when the waves get back to 3 and 4 footers!
I heard along the coast around Santa Cruz, waves were reaching 35 feet last week.
I didn't hear any reports of freakin nuts trying to surf em though.......

LOL! Thanks Judo. Probably all that would happen is a few of my friends would paddle out with my ashes (assuming they found my bloated corpse) dump them in the water and go get drunk. That and my wife would be collecting that life insurance check.
Keithws: The last shot I posted was taken during that period just above Santa Cruz. It gets that big and guys tow in using jet skis and foot straps. You simply can’t get up enough speed paddling to achieve a viable paddle in takeoff on something like that.
Anyway, I woke up with a 101 temperature so my decision has been made. I’m puffing and panting going up the stairs, much less facing a potential two wave hold down. Mans gotta know when to walk away I guess. Pisses me off because I have put a LOT of time into the pool to get ready for this swell. Hopefully it’s not the last one of the winter
