Wallid.. Brasileiro 93?

I was watching some really bad quality, hand held video footage of Bras. 93 last night. (it was so far away, that I couldn't identify most of the fighters.)

In the first fight (not all fights were on tape) Wallid (with Hair!) fought a guy with "Khan" on the back of his kimono, and "Tiger" on the leg. After the match, which Wallid controlled from passing guard, to side control,
there was a controversy. The guy seemed to shove at Wallid, words were exchanged, then it looked like both guys were yelling off camera (probably to the scorers table). Both guys were actually "restrained" by the referee. I'm listing all the details I can of the fight in hopes that someone will know something about it...

all the mats had "Mameluc" on them, and the ref for this match was a skinny black guy, he looked older. Anyway, Wallid was declared the winner.

What happened? What was the incident? Who was Wallids opponent?

The guy was Jorge Periera. What occured? I don't know, but I do know that nobody likes Wallid. Even the guys on his team. People say he talks behind thier backs.

As far as the incident, both guys were really upset, it seemed more with the off camera (probably scorers table) than with each other. I wonder what happened.

I would have to disagree with "nobody likes Wallid." I've heard many good things from people who know him well. The general consensus is that he is a super nice guy off the mat.

I'm sure that with anyone who achieves success, there are those who don't like them (whether it is due to jealousy, personality conflicts, or LOST REVENUE)
