no i didnt have a knife...it was in my jeans they were on the back of the toilet...no time to reach for it...i saw a shadow block the light..looked out saw one guy entering my bathroom and another behind him...i just reacted...i dunno when i grabbed the toothbrush....i remember the floorlamp getting swung at me as i fought out of the bathroom into the bedroom...i remember kicking it away and it expoding into glass fragments that peppered by thighs and groin...lots of blood... and then i was alone in the room except for my screaming daughter...

yeah there were knives and swords and all sorts of firearms in many places scattered around the house...some as close as 3 feet away...no time to reach for and unsheath anything...it really made me look around at the weapons i had stashed to grab in case of trouble...i realized they would have had a better chance to grag a weapon than me...im glad they didnt grab a sword or spear that day...i WAS lucky.

First of all, Boarspears story must be believed as he is among the significant posters, you take our word as the gospel god damnit.

Second, the eye gouge thing on Rickson Gracie is ludicrous, the eye gouge thing on a blue belt in BJJ, or a person whos done highschool wrestling for at least two years is ridiculous. (On the ground).

This person, blue belt, or two year wrestler, is gonna have enough control and know how on the ground to keep all your limbs that can cause damage to him under control. For instance if your in side control (top), the legs cant really cause any striking damage although they can be used for an escape. Any grappler worth his salt will have both your arms controlled.

Now I'm not saying when standing up they are impervious to this, but its very easy to control someones hands in grappling if that is what you are intent on doing.

Rickson Gracie would have no trouble controlling your hands to avoid getting eye gouged.
