Alright everyone, SIT DOWN, and BRACE yourselves, Oma, SG, put a pillow behind you before reading any further, Im NOT JOKIN' DAMNIT

Alrighty then, sorry but safety first, i didnt want anyone getting hurt when they passed out..... BJJ is totally the way to go dude, you are young and your fights shouldnt be that serious. Those you cant outrun (your first option) you will probably win since most kids cant punch worth crap anyway...or... learn to wrestle.

Oh also man, you could try a boxing/wrestling combo. Wrestle at school and go to camps, box outside of wrestling season 2-3 times a week.

wrestling alone will not win fights, it can win pins though, and from there you can use your rudimentary striking and better ground positioning to beat an opponent.

This topic is a bit wierd.

First of all, what do you WANT out of the martial arts? Do you just want a belt rank? do you want self defense aplication? do you want to have fun? to you want to get in shape? do you want to impress girls (it better not be to impress girls)?

Look inside yourself for a sec, and then go out and do your homework at the local dojos, books, and the interenet, decide what you want and find a valid place to fullfill your need.

The longer and harder you train the better you'll be period. This applies to any area of life, whether it's your job, fighting, anything. Here's an easy route - just don't try. If you take the easy route you won't be any good, hard conditioning prepares you for the worst and makes you stronger.

You did TKD as a kid (from what I've heard the easiest to fly through the ranks, although I haven't personally done it), try boxing or kickboxing now. The conditioning is great, it's fun, the techniques are solid and proven through many years of competition, and theres plenty of room to grow/improve.

I've had buddies who would talk about how they can wreck anyone with their martial arts, when the gloves go on and they spar, the ones with experience boxing would always come out on top (usually in embarassing fashion).

Lol wrestling alone cannot win fights true, but it can better prepare you than most martial arts and spots due to the balance/leverage/conditioning/constant training under resisting opponents/and ect. It is one of those things that you take into any other style of grappling and you excell much much more quickly than if you had not done it. And of course, I would take the wrestler over the boxer lol. Not by much but I'd say 4 times outa 10.
