Ok, first you obviously don't respect boxers as fighters, you're probably an idiot yourself. Boxers use gloves to protect themselves... but in bare fist or any other encounter where they throw punches, they have the upper hand. Punching accounts for one of the 4 ranges of fightting, close range.(long, close, clinch, ground being the 4) A WHOLE RANGE... you must not know much about mma. Or self defense, in fact, you've probably never even seen a fight. If you're a pro boxer you will do extremely well in a fight, seeing as to how you will be in exellent shape, strong, quick, and have great footwork and hands. Yes, it is not complete in and of itself, but it is an essential part of learning to fight. And an opponent doesn't need to sit there and box, all you need is a couple punches bare knuckle to hit the floor... sometimes only one.
