So you say that training with aliveness and actually punching your opponent in the face and training your footwork, your head movement and training every other attribute won't help you in the street?
How does doing Kata help you in the street? So punching the air helps you in the street but punching with gloves on your hands makes it trash?
You say MMA doesn't help you in the street?
Training punching/kicking/take downs/grappling doesn't help? WHAT THE HELL HELPS?
Sure then **** martial arts and lets just buy a gun, that solves the damn problem.

I don't even know what the hell I should say, your beliefs are retarded. Go fight a professional boxer and see if you stand 10 seconds with him with whatever you practice.
    Couldn't have said it better.

Anyway, back on topic, I think the original poster made some OK points but failed to truly grasp the extent to which traditional martial arts are a product of cultural circumstances and so must evolve to be traditional, paradoxically right.

What the hell... you're part of what Boar was talking about... didn't you see your name in his diss list? I'm not sure why I'm there. Unless it's a misunderstanding cause I think Tom is a good poster on this site... If it's not a misunderstanding he's just a dumbass. Anyway, you're part of the problem, not me.

Lol you're the one who messes up this site with bad posts... as evident by comments on your posts, and by Boar's post. No one has ever said that about me. In fact, I have decent amount of rep points on my posts for the less than a month period of time I have been here.

Ok buddy, how do your TMA help then, give me the differences please, I'm eager to learn. And don't start with the biting and eye gouges because you can't blame a sport for not including them, sue them for making it as safe as it can be.

listen...none of the consistent posters here are going to believe a goddamned thing any new goofy ass troll is going to post, especially now, unless they link up their credentials and who they are...

got a myspace account? put up a link to a picture on putfile.com? Do something, bro...otherwise you will NOT be taken seriously.

I usually look into their posts then determine it. And this guy isn't accepting any opinions and he's a hard headed ignorant idiot.

An excellent preemptive strike there, showing the superiority of the sportfighting mindset in this virtual battlefield of doom. Don't hit him whilst he's down though, it's not sporting.

You are a fool that doesn't know his opponent and have unfortunately been miss led throughout your little time in the Martial Arts world. You know little if anything about me or my background therefore you are foolish to judge me. You are clearly not a Respectable Martial Artist therefore why are you here?

I practice western boxing, kickboxing, Thai boxing, plus Shaolin kung fu and feel that they all work together and compliment each other but feel that alone Western Boxing is possibly the less effective of all. Watch UFC, do you see any Western boxers?

I really don't care what someone like you thinks of me.

YOU don't know anything about my background either. So don't judge me.
I'm not a respectable martial artist? I'm new to the scene I'm still earning the respect but I haven't earned the disrespect of anyone, well at least in the real world which is what matters to me.
                        Why am I here?
Believe I'm not here to compare styles like your ignorant ass. I'm here to learn mostly and share some information, however, I have to express my feelings sometimes since some posts get very repetitive and they become quite annoying. The question is, why are YOU here?

Hell in my first post I didn't know the difference between Thai boxing and boxing, I'm not afraid to admit it, I've learned lots here but sadly some people make it hard for others to learn since they keep bringing up the style vs style and the criticisim over and over again.
This guy reminds me of tkd_person, I swear he's like an older version of him.

I don't care what you think or don't think of me, I am not here to compete, just to exchange idea's, knowledge and hopefully gain and pass on usefull wisdom.

If I provoke thoughts and then get a view or just a response then so be it, that is what makes our words worth sharing. I have no bad feelings towards you therefore you should not waste your energy getting wound up over a crossed wire.

                          I have studied TMA's for many years yet still consider myself a beginner. Yet I feel that I should advise you and say this;
If you don't appreciate my threads then stay away and don't bother reading them.
