Yes folks, I got my ticket reservation today. I'm heading to Rio for three and a half weeks of eating, drinking, and breathing jiu-jitsu in March and April. But just in case the trip is too much fun I am stopping in Dallas on my way back for a few days of abuse at the hands of my exgirl. Admit it, you're all jealous (except for the Dallas part).

Airfare (from Japan remember) was about $1400. I don't know where I'm going to stay or where I'm going to train yet. But I think it will either be Barra or Humaita.

I'm not sure if you're looking for luxury or economy, but an average place to stay that's not too far from Humaita is the "Ipanema Inn". It's about 2-3 miles from the academy and walking distance to Ipanema Beach. If you could find a place in Lagoa it would be closer to the academy, but I'm not familiar with any hotels there.
