One of my favorite escapes is escaping from a standing rear forearm choke by quickly shooting my elbow back and then reverse hammer fist to the private parts.

Escape from a wrist grab; two methods.. 1) the rotation method were I just rotate my closed hand around my enemys wrist 2) the twist and pull method. Just step back, twist and pull out of it. I like #1 best.

escape from ude garami (figure 4 arm bar), reach over and grab your own (trapped) hand, clasp then together then reverse the arm bar.

I posted a few in hopes of hearing more escapes from the defend community. I'll post more if the participation is here. So far, I am impressed with what has been written.

Headlock escapes: 1- If someone doesn't move around you can get a hip toss. 2- If someone keeps moving around just sit down on the ground and roll over him so you end in the mount.
Grabs: If someone is grabbing your shirt, jerk his body towards you downwards.
If someone is grabbing your wrist rotate your hand around and pull.
Escapes: How to escape a guilltoine from the guard.
How to escape a full nelson.
How to escape a bearhug.
Escapes from the mount.
Reversals: How to reverse a single leg.
How to sweep someone if he is on your back.
Just a few ideas, there are lots of things you can teach.

This has happened when ive grappled against other wrestlers on my team; I have them pinned(side mount) and they guillotine me and i switch to mount. Theyre still putting a lot of pressure on my neck and im being slowly choked out(even though theyre being mounted). I used to just try to break free from their hold(by putting pressure on their face and push off), but its so much easier to just lock your arms around their head and pull into them. I think this is like a side choke. Will it work when youre in guard and the person on top has a tight neck hold( like a guillotine)?

a) protect your neck by holding the wrist of the choking arm
b) reach over their shoulder with your other arm & hug them
c) post up onto your feet & put your weight through your 'hugging' shoulder into their neck
d) turn your head away from the choke as you lift the choke off.
e) get posture
It works - I haven't been caught by a guillotine in years. Anyone who's been doing BJJ more than 6 months should know this one (I would hope)

Originally posted by aseepishMy favourite escape/reversal chain is this: My opponent is mounted on my chest. i) fake bridge and roll and use his reaction to get the elbow-knee escape. I now have half-guard. ii) I now get the arm on the side where his leg is trapped under his armpit, grabbing his back; the other hand grabs his pants on the inside of his knee (on his free leg). I'm on my side, balled up around his knees. I reverse him by unhooking his leg, pulling with the arm grabbing his back, and pushing with the arm grabbing his knee. I end up in cross-side.
I pull this off a lot - i) or ii) (or both) at least once per training session.
Also, I learned the majority of my escapes from BJJ, my wrestling escapes rarely come into play.

Originally posted by OmaPlatafrom a headlock, reach up and put your forearm in the guys throat and then reach behind his thigh, picking him up and slamming him on his back, taking top control and pounding him Tito style
You have to coordinate it to where you get his head to move, change his balance (body follows the head), scoop and use your legs to move him onto the ground since you will not be able to pick up a 300-lb er with your other free hand in one scoop
If you push his chin or rather palm strike through his face, it will move him off balance. Remember Hackney vs. Yarbrough? It's then easier to lift one of his legs once he's redirected and you can drive him into the ground, landing into a side mount or some variation of a half-guard.

Originally posted by EmptyneSsalso, if you can manage to get your legs behind him, you can grab his waist and lift his body high, slamming him into something.
