If he wants to be a bar fighter, that's one thing. But as an athlete, there's no room for that crap.

There is a couple of things in his game you need to consider, first - his weight is a big issue. The UFC seems to be very careful (no racism intended here) not to turn the UFC into an Asian competition, there are already too many of those. The lower weights are nearly always ran by Asians (being naturaly shorter and a smaller frame). The UFC esspecially is very, very American - just look at who is currently champ at the different weight classes... Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, Rich Franklin, Tim Silvia all big Americans. The exception would obviously be that recently we had a BJJ versus GSP fight, neither of which are American, but both big-big names!

The second reason, and don't hate me for saying it is that 'the kid' is very, very dangerous at certain times and numerous times would have recieved bans for his after ko antics. I havn't watched the videos you posted, but in fights I have seen, numerous times after the guy is knocked out he carries on hitting and hitting and hitting him. One occasion I remember there was a guy being hit about 6-7 times after being KO'ed and it took 4/5 refferees and trainers to pull 'The Kid' off of him. You can't do that in MMA, you obviously have to believe you can win, but hitting someone after a knockout (esspecially in a low weight class) is dangerous.

The other reason would be his attitude, UFC loves people who are cocky... Nick Diaz, Tito Ortiez for example, but that guy drops his gloves every few seconds and waves people over to hit him, laughs, generally bad talks people. You would find it hard to accomidate him in a dressing room like the UFC's that commands so much respect.

Taking nothing away from the kids ability, he is amazing and the strengths of his strikes are phenominal for such a small guy. But he needs to change his attitude slightly and he could indeed be a house known name one day.

(again, no offence intended for my above comments)

I know that wasn't a title fight, but it was a number 1 contender match.

OK, gave in and watched the highlight video, one thing I saw, was he held on too long in a choke after the guy submitted and also the arm bar could have been boken a little earlier, but generally not as bad as the punches after a KO. I would like to see him in the UFC, but I am not sure how good the division would be, UFC may one day add it in, but we shall see.

Any body know his natural weight? Because remember the actual weight class in the UFC would mean some people dropping 10 pounds, in extreme people have lost around 20, so he would probably still miss out.
