Getting back to John Lewis (the original point of this thread) I just read his interview on ADCC. He seems pretty sure about this fight with Hallaman. It could be that his promoter is in talks with the Matt Hume camp and they just haven't made a decision yet.

Of course if I have to make a call I would have to say Hallman would win a matchup between them.

Fights

As a Pro fighter, I know that sometimes a fighter will be asked to fight an opponent and the opponent is not aware of it. Yes, it sounds like bad promoting or bad management, but it happens. Sometimes two fighters names are mentioned, one gets asked first before the other and it is released with only one fighter knowing about it.

I'm not saying this is the case here, but it could be.

You guy's are damn right to say what you want to say about a fighter, but try not to see confidence as arrogance in a fighters attitude. The two are easily misled for each other.

I have met John and he is a humble polite guy who respects all fighters. In and out of the ring.

It is also hard to read someones actions or tone of attitude in an interview. Hell knows it's happened to me before in an interview. I've mentioned something totally innocent and someone has asked me why I was so rude after they read it. You guy's will have done the same on this forum.

I don't want to pick sides or go against any of you guy's, all I'm saying is things are not always the way they seem.

Just wanted to clarify this issue for everyone. Here is the scoop, straight from John's mouth.


"John Peretti offered me a fight with Hallman before the UFC sale. I accepted and negotiated my purse. I hear that Dennis didn't know about the fight. I thought he must have. That's the fight in my lap and I accept. They put an outdated interview up on the ADCC page. It made me look bad because the March date has changed. If you know me, you know I don't lie about silly little things. Unless something falls through you'll see Hallman and I fight in April."

Thanks a lot for posting that Ian.

So once again the words of Rafiel Torre are questioned.
I remember when he tried to use his position as a reporter for ADCC to destroy the career of Tom Proctor. It was really wrong because he was bringing his personal issues with people into his articles. He is not even a qualified journalist, in fact he is a meat head that somehow landed on his feet by getting a job with ADCC. He has screwed up a few times now so hopefully the Prince will realize he is wrong for the job and get rid of him.
Im sure there are real journalists out there who have a working knowledge of MMA.

Ian- Thanks for the post. That makes sense. I can see how that easily got mixed up especially with the sale of the UFC and all. But even though I would pick Hallman, I still think it could be a good fight. Maybe Zuffa will put it on the card?
