  • Question...

I was rolling in class this morning and the guy attempted an anaconda choke I think... and it sunk around my ear... and now my hearing in one ear is a little messed up. Almost seems like I'm listening through a tunnel in that ear. No pain though, no lightheadedness, and I proceeded to roll for over an hour more. I was thinking if it persists into tommorrow to get it looked at. What do you guys think. Anyone had a similar experience...

I've had that happen after I took a blow to the head when I was about 9. I have minor loss of hearing in one ear so you should deffinatly get it checked out, it may be nothing or it could mean if you go deaf in one ear or not.

I really dont see how an Anaconda choke could hurt your ear. If the A. choke is done properly, your arms shouldnt even touching their ears...only the mat would hurt your ear and at that point you'd be tapping cause of the choke. But it probably wasnt an A.choke. If youre worried about your ears getting damaged you should wear headgear. I dont think your ear is damaged at all...it will get better, dont worry. Suck it up!

I've had this happen before too. See a doctor, who might just clean all the gunk out of your ears.
