BJJ in Michigan

Can any one recommend any BJJ schools to check out. I am about an 1 1/2 hours north of Detroit. Share some ideas w/ me.

I've trained with gary and would suggest him to others...also see if sean king is around anywhere these days. he was teaching out of ann arbor, saginaw, and canton. he's a relson and rigan trained student, very good.

Sweep 'em: Saginaw and Detroit are about the same distance away. I live in the Flint area. You familiar with the area?

I'm in san francisco now....grew up 30 min from flint, I was training with sean and gary about 5 years ago.

I've only gone to visit a few times, and I was only in the Detroit area and also Troy. Most times it was to weddings and family stuff and couldn't get away. But next time, I'm bringing the Gi.

Does anyone remember a post on the old forum about an instructor from Brazil that was in Michigan, but was going to leave because he wasn't getting enough students?

I remember the post, that it was a black belt and also a brown belt at the school, but because of poor marketing, they were having a hard time.

But, I can't remember either names.

Sorry dude, but I assume that they are no longer around.

Most Brazilians love the beach and that's one reason why they hang in California and also Florida.
Michigan has some lousy cold weather sometimes.

Hey, I just heard there was a gut teaching BJJ in Flint under Rickson. Does anyone know anything about him?

also, see if the bjj group is still meeting weekly at the ann arbor YMCA.
