  • won my 3rd fight!

for any of you who have been helping I just wanted to let you all know on tues June 26th I won my third Amature Vale Tudo match at :46 seconds of round 2 with a front Guillotine choke. I was going to fight again the first wed in August but I got my rib bruised in the first round with a shin kick, so I am thinking about sitting that one out.

thanks for all your help, oh by the way omaplate you CAN muscle out of an armbar, not easy but it is possible, thanks for the help

I never said you couldnt. We all saw Bob Sapp do it when Minaturo got him in an armbar several times, only tapping to the last one due to fatigue. Good job in the fight though

I hairline fractured my left floating rib about 3 years ago when someone took me down and landed on it with an elbow. (not intentionally, from what I heard...heh). About 4 months ago, I got kicked just left of the solar plexus and bruised the cartilidge surrounding my ribs. The broken one took about 6-8 months before I didn't regularly feel pain when doing something. The brusied rib was about 4-5 weeks of medium to severe pain, then mild pain here and there for about 2 months. Everyone once and a while I feel it now if I get hit there.

this bruise is weird, it is far in the back, like at the bottom of my lats!, and I know it isn't broke, so how long before you trained again, grappled I mean, I spared with a rib guard tues, but I was limited.

Congrats on the fight. I've had a few bruised ribs and a few fractured ones as well. It didn't take mine too long to heal but then again it's said the younger you are the faster you heal... -shrugs- Hope your rib heals fast. God Bless.

If you don't breathe to let your ribs heal, it's really quick...

otherwise rib injuries take a long time to heal up. I messed up or rather a spaz white belt messed up my ribs and it took about 4 months for it to heal up.

The first week, I couldn't lay down flat and had to sleep sitting partially up.

                  hurts

the bruise just came to the surface (the black & blue mark I mean ) last night, & I can hit the bag and spar with a pad, but I want to grapple again, I can't afford 3 months here any suggestions.

The worst is I get a stitch alot sooner when running now.

I couldn't do anything on the ground for a while until it healed, really, but I pushed myself anyway and still tried to do some things. I just stopped when it was too painful to continue. I kept doing what I could, just taking care to stop when I felt too much pain.

                          o.k.

I wore a pad and it was o.k., our heavyweight is a monster, he is strong as an ox, but not in good shape so I let him work from the top, everything else was fine except when he tried to drive me over from the top mounted position with his head in my side (ouch) but all in all I was o.k! I gotta keep training to get my weight down for DEC I am at 190 now on my way to 168 I'm shooting for 186 after workout tommorow morning!

It varies, but I find bruised ribs take about 6 weeks to heal properly. It's really frustrating, 'cause if you start training too early they just don't heal
