WOW! AmericanGrapplingGames.com just offered me a sponsorship to compete in out of the area (outside of Utah) events. The first competition that I'll be going to as a sponsoree (is that a word?) is the US Open in October. I'll be in the fat old guy division.

Congrats!
How long have you been training? and what class are you in for the tournament? (I don't mean the fat - old guy class)... Is it setup like 0-9 months training at a specific weight then 9-18 months at weigh XX... so on?
or is it belt levels / weight / ager etc...?

Training, off and on for a very long time. There are several guys that I started with who are brown and black belts now and run their own schools. Over that period of time I moved three times, broke my leg (3X) broke my ankle (3X), had two knee surgeries, Hurt my back (6 bulging or "herniated" disks and two ruptured disks), had separated shoulders . . . blah, blah, blah . . . so, long story short I was out of training for years at a time; however, I was still a white belt when I started with my current instructor (2002) and got my blue after 6 months or so. I wore my blue for about 3 1/2 to 4 years and got my purple a couple of months ago.
Belt Level -- Weight -- Age
Purple -- Unlimited -- Masters
