  • BJJ Handbook vs Fighters Notebook?

I was hoping somebody could give me a little advice here. I'm new to BJJ and was considering buying some literature on it, either the BJJ Student Handbook (www.jiu-jitsu.net) or The Fighters Notebook (www.mixedmartialarts.com) since these are all made by the individual website, its impossible for me to just head down to my local bookstore and browse through them. Basically I was wondering which would help me more as a BJJ student in class. It looks like TFN is geared towards NHB (not much gi stuff) but it seems a little more complete/well presented than the BJJ Handbook. Hopefully a couple of you have had experience with either and can help me out.
    thanks

Both are excellent publications. I would suggest the BJJ Handbook if its purely BJJ you are interested in. The Fighters Notebook incorporates many techniques from other submission styles. I often see copies for sale on Ebay for a bit less than the recommended retail price. You might look there and get both for the price of one new one.

Pay attention to the ebay copies of the fighter's notebook. I've heard from the UG that some were ring-binders full of blak pages.

Get the legit and buy from kirik; you'll also support MMA.

I have the BJJ Student Handbook and highly recommend it, especially if you are a beginner. It also has a few advanced moves that I had forgotten about, and it's not expensive.

It's a good review tool, because I often tend to learn something in class and then forget it two days later.
