A public appology

I have been asked by Matt Thornton to not associate myself with his school and that he feels that I am not good enough to teach.I am doing that.
From here I will go to a legitament blackbelt and be tested.As I may be disillusioned with the skill levels I possess.Unfortunatly ,Matt does not test or give belts as he is not a blackbelt.So I had no idea he thought of me as still a beginner.I am upset and he is upset.But,he is my instructor and friend.So I will listen to him and take his advise.I dont feel I ever represented myself as being a Straightblast instructor or that I was at the same level.But if anyone got that impression I appologize.

It's all quite simple.Matt doesnt feel I am of high enough skill level to be representing his school.So,he doesnt feel he can give me a referance.I made a mistake and used him as a reference on my page.He did not like it and told me that he has an Instructor candidate course set up for a reason.I must go through it and graduate from it to be what Matt considers to be a quality instructor.He could have let me go on with what I was doing.But,he cant give his blessings if he doesnt believe I have enough skills or the ability to teach.Like a good friend he called me on it.Matt has instructors that are more qualified than me and he doesnt feel they are ready to run their own schools either.So,I will listen to him.I also never asked to use Matt or Robert as references.If I had they would have let me know before I got on here and made a fool of myself.There is no falling out here.No animosity.Just me thinking I am ready for something I'm not.Thank you for letting me know Matt.And for being kind enough to put me in my place in private rather than here.Hope I didnt get you too upset.Luv Ya,Dan

Seriously, I can see his point.He has a certain criteria for his instructors. You have not yet met that criteria.
Your idea about becoming a Black Belt in another style is a good idea. Im sure you could get about 3 Black Belts in the next 12 months if you chose the right style. I am currently
studying for my Black Belt in Dragon Kenpo. Even though the test is not as difficult as some other styles ive practiced it is still a legitimate Black Belt. When my students ask for my credentials it will no doubt help to ease any doubts they might have had about me.

I suggest that you remin a student of Matt Thornton. He is one of the best in the U.S.A.
