  • Muay Thai in TKD???

Probably a stupid question but are Thai Boxing kicks like the round and teep not allowed TKD comps.??? I mean, can they really judge what technique someone used, teep instead of front snap kick, hitting w/ the shin instead of the instep? Any thoughts???

    thanks

They are, providing they are hitting the legal areas.

Teeps are often used in WTF TKD. We used call them cut kicks or push kicks....we often use them when a person is trying a spin kick. We kick them in the ass.
In TKD, I try using my shin cause, I often injure my instep alot from elbows.

Yella is right, I used Muay Thai-type kicks back in the 80s when I was competing in TKD. Sure as hell others competitors where scared by me because my kick hurted alot. Also I had the unnerving habit to block kicks with elbows (not legal, but WTF?).

One hint: mostly, TKD guys have no guard, so hit them with high roundhouses on the arms. It's not worth a point but it'll wear down the opponent.
