They measure the impact, and display the results as a score. The way it measures is by the bending of a predetermined sensor, which relys the speed of the bend and the intensity of it. It is then calculated by a software algorthyem. Since force=pressure over a givin imact area at a given state of speed. eg if you fire an arrow from a bow which has no sharp tip, and fire another from one with a tip. The differences in force can be seen, as the one with the tip has less contact area and so produces more force.Originally posted by WuChi View PostCheck this out. We have info on how to order.

Same with knuckle and finger strikes, because all your weight is focussed onto a smaller point, you produce more "force"

It is a very tricky subject, involved in measuring forces. It depends on what you are hitting(eg density and weight), how much it moves, and what you want to measure, because the figues arnt really realistic of anything. This however does some pretty nifty calculations for you.

For the money, they are cracking peices of kit. It displays your score eg 130 and then you divde it by your weight. There are records set, and many comps are being arranged and running. If you happen to be involved in any event organisations(MartialartsObviously), get in contact with me as we can arange you to get a free one if you arange an event.

Can you elaborate on how the figures aren't realistic, and what they don't repressent? I thought force= mass x acceleration. but I guess what I was looking for was something to do with pressure also.Originally posted by WuChi View Postand what you want to measure, because the figues arnt really realistic of anything.
