  • Vitor Belfort tests positive for roids

    Real surprise here

The industry pioneer in UFC, Bellator and all things MMA (aka Ultimate Fighting).

Actually I do find this surprising.

Given Belfort's dismal performance at the last PRIDE, I'm surprised he was on any performance enhancer whatsoever.

For all the recent fights I keep hoping the old Vitor will show up, but lately he just looks sluggish and unaggressive.

Which is likely a side effect of steroids. Makes you strong, but takes a toll on your endurance and overall health in the long run.

Don't do them myself, but I have heard from those that have used em. Most seem to think(MMA/MT) that roids are a bad idea. They say it kills your ring endurance, though you can be unbelievably explosive and powerful early on which is what they apparently bet the bank on.

Yeah he didnt do anything offensive against Henderson, except for two sweeps from bottom. But his last fight before that was awesome! A one punch KO! And before that, he lost a close decision against Allistair Overeem. He definetly won that fight though but the american Boxing judges are dumbasses.

Rickson said it years ago that Vitor was all jiuced up and that was destoying his techinque. He also said since the rounds are only 5 mintutes that u need power and no technique, so the short rounds make for guys to jiuce it up

Steroids are not as beneficial in MMA as they are in other sports like track or power lifting. MMA isnt really about strength, its about skill. But ofcourse everyone is looking for that extra edge, thats why MMA guys juice. I still dont think it helps them all that much.
