So as you all might know, the WW GP match ups went like this...

Kazuo Misaki vs Paulo Filho

Denis Kang vs Akhiro Gono

And winner of those fights, fights eachother in the same night to determine a new Champion... like all PRIDE GP tournements...

So, Filho armbarred Misaki in the first round.... And Kang beat Gono by decision. BUT THEN, Paulo Filho pulled out because he "couldnt continue" though its rumored that he passed the medical exams and then ran off.

So then its was Misaki vs Kang in the finals, and Misaki ended up winning the decision against Denis Kang. So Kazuo Misaki(who also beat Phil Baroni and DAN HENDERSON) to get to the final round of Bushido, is the new WW Grand Prix Champ....


Takanori Gomi fought Aurelio in a rematch last night. Gomi won the SPLIT decision over Marcus Aurelio. Mitsuhiro Ishida will probably fight Gomi next, and will beat him.

Yeah i really don't expect Gomi to hold his title very long. Nothing against him, he's awesome, but the LW division is just full of great fighters and it only takes one less than top notch showing from him for him to lose it.

Too bad Kang didn't take the WW belt...I really wanted him to take it. In your opinion was it a controversial decision or a clear one?

I didnt get to see that fight, but from what i hear, Misaki won hands down... But go Filho dominated Misaki from full mount the majority of the fight. So shouldnt he be considered the champ? I dont know, styles make fights. Kang vs Filho needs to happen.

Misaki won but it was a VERY close fight....Kang was severely injured before the Tourney....he tore his rotator cuff badly and in his fight with Gono he tore his bicep and you can see his shoulder was heavly taped.The first 5 mins of round 1 was all Kang...after that Misaki came back and it was back and forth the rest of the fight.What won it for Misaki was the knee strikes he delivered in the 4 quarters position to Kangs head...also he scored two sloppy knockdowns one was really a weak kick by kang which Misaki caught the other was a punch...Kang had a pretty tight Armbar on Misaki towards the end but Misaki escaped.Split dec win for Misaki in a great fight....second Filho is a PUSSY he pulled the same shit in Bushido 6....he was cleared medically to fight and decided not to so he can save his 14-0 record...he knew Kang would give him a test espically if his knee was "hurt".The only reason he got the armbar on Misaki was because they were so curlred up in the corner post and ropes Misaki couldnt move at all....Filho took a few seconds to get in position and you can see Misaki Try and escape....thats why they always restart fights in the center..because of shit like that.Gomi won a borining ass split dec with Aurellio which was packed with passive stand up and 1 takedown.

He got lucky with that armbar on Misaki.... Misaki got lucky Filho decided to take that armbar. Filho could have taken him down in the first 30 seconds of round two, like he did in round one, passed rather easily (like he does to everyone) and punched him for another 4 minutes if he wanted.

****, why do people knock Filho, he is an amazing fighter, they say he lay and prays when he's finished 4 of his last 6 fights. He's never been hurt in a fight, never been about to get subbed, has wicked highlight reel takedowns, AMAZING ground control. People say Chuck Lidell is an amazing fighter because he keeps the fight where he wants it, and knocks people out. Filho MAKES the fight go where he wants it, and utterly destroys people on the ground, destroys.

I'm not saying its impossible that Filho would have lost to Kang, but why are you knocking Filho, how is he a pussy. Pulling out of fights because of injuries, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm pretty sure he broke his ankle in bushido 6. Yeah real pussy, he still ran through fucking everyone in that tournament, and everyone he's ever fought... ****...

I agree with most of the stuff you said but regardless the ropes helped him alot with the armbar....seeing how Misaki was never submitted or KO'ed before this fight.Second he is a PUSSY because he PASSED the medical exam and it was announced that he will fight in the finals and then suddenly 10 mins before it starts he comes down with a "knee injury" and pulls out. while Denis Kang on the hand LOST his FIANCE like 2 weeks ago...she passed away by od'ing on Painkillers (R.I.P) and on top of that Tore his Rotator cuff and tore his Bicep and fought 15 mins while Filho fought 9:45n seconds.Then fought a tought split decision loss to Misaki....Kang has the heart of a WARRIOR doing all that while Filho is a PUSSY for pulling out because he Supposedly injured his knee...RIGHT BEFORE THE START OF THE FIGHT.....im not bashing his skills im bashing his heart....which is basically not there.
