  • Bad knee what to do?

This is the third time i injure my right knee but what is strange is that the pain doesnt start untill couple of hours after sparring...Why is that..

After bjj sparring i come home everything is okay then i sit down watch some tv and then when im about to stand up my right knee starts hurting like hell. When i move my leg it hurts like hell...

Do you know what kind of injury this is?
What can i do to recover fast besides resting...

    Thanks

NOTHING! Rest is the best medicine if you are intent on not seeing a doctor. But I recommend you see a doc too. Of course if you HAVE to go train; after training, elevate your knee and put cold compress on it to reduce swelling/inflamation. Take Motrin (800 mg 2x a day). Heat to ease up on the pain also. Also buy a knee brace or get one from your doc.

    Good luck

Go see a Doctor! Don't play with your knees, I learned that the hard way. I'm 30, but have already had my knee totally rebuilt, and it looks like i've damaged the ACL again.

At this point, it doesn't sound TOO serious, it could be a slight miniscal tear. The pain after you start training could be due to the lack of cushion on the area of the tear. (Does it also start to hurt if you go for a long run?)If you are aggravating the miniscus, it will swell, and hurt. Take ibuprofene (motrin) to control swelling, and see a doctor!
(This is speculation on my part, and not a medical diagnosis! Go see a Dr!)

I have had the same problem you describe with your knees. I shoe horses for a livieng in which i spend most of the day in a half squat possition very very hard on the knees. After a hard days work when im driveing or something my knees start to serriously hurt and feel like there is something putting preasure from the inside out at one time it got so bad if i bent my knees over halfway they would just give and i would fall. Sometimes it would do it while i was sleeping. I found that it only happend if i let my knee set in one spot for a period of time after a hard day of work. But if i dont let my knees stay bent for over a half hour or so at a time then its fine. And if i sleep i keep my knees straight out instead of bent.Another thing is if i rest to long they actually hurt worse and longer than if i moderatly worked them everyday. I dont think you should just plain quit and rest but go easyer on your knee and when setting on your couch keep them straight out and get up and walk around every half hour or so.
