A year ago I would have said Frank by KO in less than a minute. But Renzo's fight w/Militech makes me think this could be a good matchup.

Standup- Renzo knows how to clinch and has some good moves. Frank has KO'd and beaten up many fighters standing. ADVANTAGE FRANK.

Ground game- In purely technical terms Renzo is probably the better grappler. Also, Frank's takedown defense is just ok, his defense is his striking, not sprawling or clinching. Frank's cardio and intensity is better. He still fights at a tremendous pace 15 minutes into the fight, something Renzo definitely does not do. Frank on top in Renzo's guard could be very dangerous for Renzo if Frank is throwing bombs, Renzo in Frank's guard is probably going to be stood back up due to inactivity. I'd say the ground game is EVEN.
Cardio- No thoughts necessary. ADVANTAGE FRANK.

Frank fights hard and fast, and he will KO Renzo. He wins this matchup 9 times out of 10.
There is no way Renzo can afford to let a standup war ensue, he needs to take Frank down immediately and take him down into side control. Frank takes lots of chances and forsakes position so Renzo needs to capitalize on this and get side or full mount on him. But even after that, Frank is hard to keep down and Renzo does go dormant sometimes, so Renzo has to work to keep dominant position/go for subs. I think it's possible but I don't think it will happen. Renzo will probably only be in danger of KO, Frank's grappling is pretty straight forward, not as crafty as Sakuraba's.

I wish it were Bustamante fighting Frank instead, I think he'd have a better chance to beat Frank. He can standup w/him, fights more intensely, can take Frank down easily, and might be able to sub him too. That kind of matchup would be too close to call.

I like both fighters but I route for Renzo Gracie.. Yup Frank has a better all around game compared to Renzo so I think he will be the underdog and I always route for the underdogs... About the ground game,It would be interesting to see Frank submit Renzo but I think Renzo has the advantage but not that far as we all know that Frank is also a submission expert but during their press con, he said he wanted to Knock Renzo out.
Renzo can stand up but Frank will just overwhelm him with strikes so I would prefer him to get Frank to a ground game because it is the only way he can have a higher chance of winning.

I like both guys but I again I route for Renzo but may the best man win...
