By how much you are outta shape? Let's say that I'm some 10lbs heavier and my cardio sucks; I would start with 20min jogging first thing in the morning; then I would add 2.5min each week until I would jog very easily for at least 45min. Then I would cut the running time in half but I would ran much faster, trying to get winded. when I will ran 30min straight at 5min/km speed I would know that I'm on the right track. At this point I would do sprints; first 100 mt then gradually augmenting until I would do sprints on 800mts. At this point my cardio would be pretty much very good, so I would concentrate on sports-specifics activities, forgetting about running. There are many: shark drills on the mats, takedowns on the heavybags (sets of 50 in a row), sprints on the bag (round of full power hitting). As for the time; it alla depend by you, I would estimate tha beginning with a complete lack of cardio I would need at least 5months to get really conditioned.

When I mean conditioned I mean REALLY conditioned.

Hope it helps, bro, If you have some specific question, ask.
