I believe the promoters of this bout misrepresented the circumstances of the bout. Such as they were required by state law to have $5000 policy in case of injuries and $10000 in case of death, they had neither of these. The fighers were supposed to be paired based on experience. I had 0 prior matches my opponent had had 14. The fighters could not have won more that 5 fights in the last 5 years. My opponent had won 14 in the last year, now 15. The fighters were supposed to live within 75 miles of the event. My opponent lived over 200 miles away. The fighters also were not allowed to be more than 5 lbs. weight difference my opponent was 10 lbs heavier.

Defeat is in your attitude. Are you a victim? HELL NO!! Get your ass up off the mat and train!

NEXT TIME you'll have a better idea of what you're up against. Perhaps you will be the victor and your opponent the VICTIM! He will go back and say the deck was stacked against him... PHUI! It's a game. Win or lose you will learn and THAT is the goal (or should be IMHO)

Even a Joe Vs. Pro can be fun to "lose" if you learn a few tricks along the way!

It is not so much the joe vs. pro issue. I have a wife and kids and after I saw some of the injuries incurred and the lack of concern for rules I feel that type of event is more risk than I can reasonable place me and my family in.

I fully intend to keep training and sparring as often as possible but a full contact cage match is not necessarily a good idea. I am even considering looking at some bjj training and even can see competing in that.

I take my hat off to you sir.
It's called a toughman contest for a reason, and theres no such thing as defeat if you learn from the experience.
