I check back here on occasion, but not often.

tuffguy pegged me for part of that, but another thing is I just feel like over the first three years that I was posting here (1996-1999), we talked about and/or came to a consensus on most of the things I was interested in. That was the time when MMA was going from a curiosity to the developed sport that it has become, so there was a LOT to talk about in the way of how MMA was developing, where it was at, where it was going, and what role each of us was going to play in it. We just ended up getting closure on a lot of that, so there wasn't much more to discuss beyond whatever new personalities showed up on the scene or what the latest fight results were. But even on the latest fight results, there was little to talk about in the way of technique, styles, and the evolution of MMA; even fight results these days are more about the individual personalities and alliances than they are about the bigger issues we grappled with up until 2 years ago.

Another thing is that these days, there are a lot more sources for news on the latest happenings on MMA, between all the MMA news websites, magazines, and newsletters. MMA forums like this used to be the primary source of information exchange on these things, as well as where to locate and choose schools, all of which are available on a multitude of other websites with an accuracy/reliability that isn't possible on a relatively anonymous MMA forum.

LOL, Shimora's one of the biggest reasons I stay here, this guys a f*cking trip!!! Plus on the UG posts cum and go like starbucks', I'll post something, go take a shower, come back and that posts history. And pretty much everyone here's dam cool, unlike the UG.

I've been gone a while, was playing in the Utah snow.
It was a blast. The weather was great, they called it a mini heat wave, temps in the 40's-50's with lots of sunshine.

Salt Lake City is gearing up big time for next year's
Winter Olympics. It's less than a year away. We went to The Canyons and saw the Olympic ski jump ramps, it was unbelievable that people take that ramp and fly through the air and have a safe landing.

If you want to hear a real rip off, a friend of mine lives in Park City and sent in over $5,000 for a deposit on tickets and this was over a year and a half ago, and they won't announce or notify you until one month before the Olympics if you get any tickets. So the "Olympic Committee" gets to keep this money, along with the interest it generates, and you MIGHT get some tickets. Now this is a real scam.

Oh, and made some money in Vegas on the way back.....

Ravenman has it right. Now that we know for the most part what works and what doesn't, all I look for is results and upcoming events, which i can get from news.adcombat.com anytime. For the most part I just like the opinions of MMA guys on current topics, so I spend most of my time on the OG. For local events and serious MMA talk, Mousel's is still the best, but there just isn't much to say.

BTW, his posts on this thread re-enforce why Shimora is one of my favorite posters on the internet. LOL.
