I though Franca said the reason he took the roids was because of an ankle problem. I read he was trying to overcome an ankle injury so he could fight as well as pay his bills. Steroids do help you heal faster... When I injured my shoulder/rotator the doctor put me on steroids for two weeks to help with the healing. They were low dosage and were intended to help with my rehab of my shoulder. I know guys who have been busted for taking crap they bought at a health food store. When you combine Andro-6 (not sure if you can still buy it or not) with Creatine and Betagen (all EAS products) you will be surprised at how strong you get in a short amount of time. If it was a substance that indeed was banned from competition then yes they got what they deserved for breaking the rules. However, if we find out that the substance they were taking are supplements that you can walk in and buy from any GNC then I think we need to take a closer look at whats going on.

    Just my opinion guys.

    Tim

It took me a while to catch on, but yeah, that's his sense of humor. It's pretty funny actually, I think.

Sherk tested 12 ng/ml. I think the doctors or whatever say the most a pro athlete who trains alot could produce naturally (without roids) is up to 6 ng/ml.

Royce Gracie recently tested 50 ng/ml.

I think Sherk just trained so hard and combined with those 25 supplements that he took produced such high Nandrolone levels.

Also, theres controversy w/ nandrolone testing:

        -wikipedia
That's something I was getting at. His levels were only double, and that's not a rediculous amount.

And franca and sherk are both damn good fighters too... If you want to hump up on roids just because your "barely making it" than might want to try Pro wrestling cause MMA is not for you... It's not like it was a surprise test or something either, They'll get tested their PRO FIGHTER'S...Fighters that are supposed to be fighting on even levels...So WTF???
Ummmm... you're an idiot. I'm no longer gracing you with my responses. All I have to say is this: If you're dead broke, have no further marketable skills, and don't want to resort to selling drugs, robbing, or anything of the kind, and you're injured, and roids are the best solution to your injury, you'll take the roids. Not everyone is over privelaged such as yourself. I don't think Franca was trying to hide it... he knew a test was coming. He wanted a paycheck to feed himself and his family, nothing wrong with that.

It's tough to explain to people who haven't grown up underprivelaged, on welfare, or had the tough breaks. I give him credit for not engaging in more shady forms of money making, as many of us have in the past. I'm sure had he not had an injury, that test would have come back clean.

The fight game is fickle...I personally don't fault either one of them for doing it...especially in light of their fiscal responsibilities to their families. Like J-Luck said:
"Franca said he couldn't pay his bills, and was very appologetic. Apparently you've never been broke, or underprivelaged. That's a VERY ignorant statement to make."

and this garbage..."their advantages on roids creates weakness, That S#*t cant be good for your mind.." are you an expert on this subject? What are your credentials on steroids and their usages, or better yet, their physiological and psychological effects upon the human body...if you do, I'll be willing to listen, but as it is now, you're just another ignorant shit-talking armchair warrior. Don't EVEN try to be an armchair psychiatrist or physician...please, just stop now while you're ahead.
Thank you Garland. You've got more common sense and intelligence than 99% of the people here.

One thing though... when was he ahead? Haha.

              Haha! That answers my question.

If franca said he was just trying to make ends meet and was reaching for straws, Wouldn't that indicate a low self esteem or at least an overall insecurity of his NATURAL ability's???? Now can I be a complete jackass??
No, dumbass. Ugh... I said I wouldn't respond... but I'm going to have to put you down. HE WAS INJURED. READING COMPREHENSION, READING COMPREHENSION. HOOKED ON PHONICS... try it out sometime. The substance helps decrease recovery time from an injury.

Steroids should be legal. They were made illegal out of sheer sensationalism and worried alarmism.
It's so true. Roids are no where near as dangerous as they are made out to be. In fact, they're relatively safe, in low dosages.

Nope. Sherk got 28 grand and FRANCA got 14 grand.

not really. dont you want to get bigger and stronger? steroids and hgh when done properly can work wonders for you. they are miracle drugs. see, bodybuilders drink cupfuls per day of substances you are only supposed to have a small teaspoon of for example. but if you do them right they can work wonders. why would all the drug companies want people walking around strong and healthy, with good hormone levels even in old age, with stronger and denser bones and the stimulation of red blood cell production? frail old men and women who break their hips when they fall on the ground dont have to suffer like that, give them a couple cycles of steroids to build up their bodies, raise their hormone levels, and just totally repair and fortify their body. stack some roids with some hgh so they can work together, along with creatine cycles to just get as strong as a body as possible.

look at the video i posted, they arent that bad.

and yeah, i hear on the downlow that gold's gym is a good place to score roids at. this one time this guy at jiu jitsu practice who had a membership there was telling me how he got offered steroids in the locker room multiple times before. he was out of shape though, so maybe some of the guys who were jacked just felt bad for him.

local dealers like that are normally cops. you are correct... hormone replacement therapy and developement in peptides such as pegMGF and IGF Long R3 are modern miracles. Golds gym, any gym, random dude on the street... big no no. most of what you will get are fakes, and can eaither be things as harmless as grapeseed oil, or could be something that causes a serious abscess. whatever you do, dont do the golds gym thing. go to a clinic. they are legitamate. im not advocating their use or breaking the law for that matter... are there legit black market sources, yes, but do your homework.
