  • Adapting techniques for use on the ground

Lately I've been thinking about adapting standing wrist locks I've learned from aikido to a ground situation, from guard, or a modified guard. This is hard to describe, and I've yet to try it myself as I haven't been able to make it to the gym in quite a long time now. I just wonder if anyone else has had this idea or other ideas for adapting techniques from other systems for use on the ground. Your thoughts?

The BJJ "mão de vaca" technique = aikido's nikyo/nikajo, applied from the top, using your chest to apply pressure to your opponent's wrist.

From the top? You mean from like a mount position? Is it possible to do it from guard or some kind of modified guard? Thanks for your reply.
