i thought it was already popular there, i think iran seems to be pretty decent at martial arts and things, they compete well in thai boxing as well.

i wouldnt mind visiting there actually, kuwait looks quite good too, ive been to UAE that was really nice, didnt stay long though. lets just hope america can restrain themselves and not blow everywhere up.

Iran is already known for its karateka and wrestlers; no suprise that MMA has caught on.

          hello,

iran has historically produced some very good wrestlers (as well as indigenous wrestling form, the name escapes memory at the moment).

many karate, taekwondo and muaythai fighters.

lived next door to two iranian immigrants. they were fine athletes. we shared some interesting sparring sessions.

          thanks.

yeah looking at the 2 clips, it looks like most of the fighters come from tkd/karate backgrounds. looks like they are using karate and tkd in the cage.

              hello,

agreed. one works with the tools available, neh? gotta give them an "A" for enthusiasm. with some proper mma training they might become really good at it!

              thanks.

                  hello,

for years, taekwondo and wrestling were the only systems the public were allowed to study. if an entire nation is focused on one striking method and competing with each other, they are likely to get reeeeaaaaaaally good at it!!

                  really good wrestlers too.

                  thanks.
