  • Have to change clubs and no idea which one to take.

I am at the moment doing Kamon Wing Chun and absolutely LOVE it, i think its a very dynamic martial art and think its a lot of fun, however due to my working patterns and shifts its becoming increasingly difficult for me to attend this club, I will have to join another club with different times and days from where I am at the moment.

there are 2 clubs near me that stand out at the moment, one of them is the KEYSI fighting method:- http://www.totalcombatacademy.co.uk
and the other one is Kuk Sool Wun:- www.kuksoolwonglasgow.com

What are peoples experiences of these two? I am stuck as in which one to choose.............thank you in advance.

it largely depends on what you want... self defence, competition, grading syllabus, a nice social interaction...someone looking for realistic self defence as a priority is going to be looking for different stuff to someone who likes to keep fit, have social contact and exercise in a way thats challenging for example...

keysi uses a cover approach a lot, which is ok, they tend to rely on hammerfists quite a bit, some seemed a bit strange to me.. it doesnt suit me but that doesnt mean it wont suit you, best thing is to go down and watch the classes, see if its something you're interested in, see what the people are like....look at the quality of the students, and what theyve learnt... if only the teachers are competent then that is usually a bit worrying to me

im not a big fan of kuk sool won either, but i know people who enjoy both arts and benefit from them immensely so check them out and see what you like more...

You are right about that................I tried KSW just the other day and it took me by surprise, it sees like an explosive martial art...........what I liked about it that it was an EXCELLENT instructor.........he is UK and European sparring champion and yet so down to earth and humble.........I think having a good instructor can ake a big difference.

The russian website you mentioned sees pretty good as well.........although I m not the biggest fan of wrestling.........I much prefer a Striking artial art, however I noticed that they have a MMA class also......I have never considered MMA before, wander what it would be like.
