  • The Goals of Martial Arts Training

Learning martial arts is not just good for self defense but there are many other things than physical strength and techniques that martial arts women can benefit from, such as:
    Mental and physical health
Your physical health will improve greatly due to the (often physically demanding) exercise. Martial arts for women will also help you improve your mental strength as you will be taught to focus one one single thing.
    Self confidence
By learning a certain martial art you will be able to focus on one goal, physically and mentally.
    Learning body dynamics
You will learn about movements and their impact on your body and on the opponent’s body.
if you have any suggestion and comments you can post here, thank you

    Goal of martial arts:

Smash your opponent(s) to bits by any means necessary.

I personally strive for four things in Martial arts training, but I realise that different people have different needs from training

Physical strength, Mental strength, Self defense, and Spirituality,

A lot of times the Spirituality part may be totally ignored, but for me its essential in my training,

            Anyways, just my quick input

Fitness, confidence, mental health. I originally studied martial arts for self defense. Now, 20+ years later, I mostly do it because it keeps me fit, I enjoy the training, and it relieves stress. I've even taken up martial arts techniques that I don't find particularly practical for street self defense, such as high kicking, just for maintaining flexibility, balance, and for improving my cardio.

What about just to kick ass, and to not get your ass kicked in front of your girlfriend if you're a guy. Those are great goals.

                  Nice first post, welcome aboard.

I suppose every (one) has his or her own goals but I have found that Judo is not so much about making us better FIGHTERS but making us better people.

                  We are all soft targets...
