    Mestre Alvaro Barreto (9° Red belt in GJJ) will be once again in the USA conducting Seminars.

    Alvaro Barreto has his academy in the famed "Corpo Quatro Academy" in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    Alvaro began training Jiu-Jitsu with Carlos & Helio Gracie. At 17 years of age, he was an instructor at "Academia Gracie", the original Gracie Academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
    Many instructors have taught at Corpo Quatro, including: Pedro Sauer, Sylvio Behring, Sergio Souza "Bolao", and many others.

    In 1967, Alvaro Barreto, Helio Gracie, Joao Alberto, and Helcio Leal Binda formed the 1st Jiu-Jitsu Federation in Brazil and established the belt ranking progression.
    Alvaro holds a Master's Degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where he is also the head Professor of the physical education department.

    The pictures all look like Judo techniques and I notice the Japanese flag also. Anyway sounds like a excellent seminar. How much does he charge? Does he ever make it to the east coast? Thanks in advance.

      Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has lots of self-defense in it thats what you see in the pics. And the flags represent where he has affiliates teaching. The seminars are around $80 check with the hosts. He usually comes to the US from Brazil every 6 months or so, has done lots of seminars in the Wash. Dc area and Florida as far as East Coast goes

          I'm not looking for a BJJ class, just a few seminars. Any suggestions on seminars would be greatly appreciated.
