  • street fight with wrestling slams and takedowns

not sure, but at first it seems like its a street fighter vs wrestler, but then the street fighter who gets slammed pulls off a nasty slam of his own at the end. mabye they both knew some wrestling??? maybe they were trying to imitate pro wrestling??? i dont know.

my favorite part is when one of the bystanders says " he tryin to DDT that ni**a!" ......LOL

well, i say its ok, though i believe you will just use it as a forum to bust more one liners.

either way, how about you start by explaining what stands out to you in the video. do you think both guys were wrestlers??

If you build it, they will come.

Would you also put on a conditioning clinic as well - since the conditioning that wrasslers use is probably the most thorough of most combat athletes.

                Looks like two cowboys fighting.

                  Longer than what? 7 minutes?

No way to know for sure, but they both looked like they had some training of some sort. The one dude knew enough to hook the leg to keep from being thrown, at least at the beginning of the video, and they both seemed to be familiar with how to gain leverage with position and stuff like that.

Remember, we're in an MMA forum - where the fights last ten or fifteen minutes. And boxers, incidentally, train for 36 minutes of fighting.

Yeah, wrestlers are gonna train to go total balls-out for 7 minutes and not much more, so if training for a longer context they'd have to train differently. On the other hand, folks training to go for a half an hour would be unlikely to keep up with the pace for that 7 minutes in that context.

Certainly not a universal trait, mind you, but something folks should take into account when preparing a conditioning routine for a 15 or 36 minute fight.

Well, it wouldn't be very smart to train for 7 minutes if you are going to be fighting for 30.

I do long runs/swims to work on stamina but also do specific-event type training as well.

Back in the (very) old high school days many of us on the wrestling team were also on the football team, track, etc. during other seasons and even folks in great shape for other sports knew that 'wrestling shape' was a different thing altogether. Optimal conditioning is specific to the task, at least when functioning at a high level in that task.
