Elvis, I haven't seen this guy yet but he seems to be a fan favorite over on the UG because he posts there. He's only won on fight and did well against Frank Shamrock. Is he just that impressive? #8 in the world?

Well, he did manage to SUBMIT Horn. But why isnt tra listed in the top 10? He did beat Vovchanchin and you cannot make the argument that he has to prove himself with another fight because Elvis needs to do the same then.

        YeLLa-TiGeR,

Tra got some votes (including mine), but not enough to crack the top 10.

We have tried to balance the poll by adding as many qualified media members as possible, and by consciously looking for members from countries other than the USA.

However, with the growing number of voters comes a number of different opinions. Obviously, some people did not agree that Tra deserved to be ranked.

Lets hope that as the poll gets bigger and more established (and the sport grows), it also get better.

Frank Shamrock keeps popping up on a lot of polls. What exactly is his status? If he intends to be active there are 2 or 3 fights I'd like to see him in. I'd like to see Pride or anyone get the best Middles and have a tournament over a period of time to crown the best. Everyone fights once a night, get a 3 month rest, then go again until you're down to 2 and the winner is champ.

How can Rizzo be #2 and Randleman #10. Rizzo looses to Randleman, than beats 150 year ols Severn and then beats Barnett and get's back to #2. Barnett is a decent fighter, but not even ranked in the top 10. How do loose to a guy and never drop below him in the rankings, beat an old man who should have been finished 5 years ago and a guy ranked in the 11-20 range and be ranked #2? How the hell is Kerr still in the top 10? Ranked 8, you have to be kidding me. Lost 2 fights this year and won 2 set-ups and is still in the top 10. Why does everybody love this guy? He has only beaten 1 ranked fighter in his whole carrer.

In my opinion I agree that Tre should not be in the heavy top 10. Tre has only had 3 fights in 3 years (lost to Rizzo and Barreto), before his fight against Vochanchin he hasnt shown the ability to be able to win fights at that level.

In contrast to Elvis who has had three fights in the past year or so. He fought on short notice against a much bigger oponent Benetau and got a draw, after that he faught on short notice Frank Shamrock and lost a close decision and his last fight again on short notice he faught Horn and finished him off.

Elvis has shown a consistant good performance against good oponents in the resent past so ranking him in the bottom of the middlewight division is reasonable. While Tre has been very inactive in comparisn and his previous fight with Barreto was not a good performance. So untill he starts fighting more often and shows that he can manage to continue to fight well consistantly against top level oponents in my opinion he doesnt deserve to be in the MMA heavyweight top 10.

As for Kerr I agree he doesnt belong to be in the top 10 anymore. His biggest wins is over a bulked up middlewight Enson Inoue. After losing to Fujita and Vochanchin he has shown that he cant beat a top 10 fighter so untill he does I would not but him in.

Randleman is fighting as a middleweight in the next UFC so he should now be ranked in that division.
