the Rock knock out Lewis! WOW! Rahman was prepare and Lewis not, Rahman took it seriously and Lewis not, Rahman came 3 weeks in advance and Lewis not and Rahman was there to fight and Lewis not!
    Congrat to "the Rock" Rahman
ps: Now it will be interesting to see what will happen in the Heavy division. I think it's time for Wladimir Klisthko to put it up on the line and become the unified champion of the world.

Wow! A huge shot lands cleanly and Lewis goes down.

I am glad that it was a good guy like Hasim Rachman that has had some bad luck in the past rather then a scumbag loser like Tyson that beat the WBC/IBF champ Lewis.

          Wow, thats incredible.

I don't really follow boxing, but how big of an upset is this? I read posts on the 'net where the title was "Lewis is fighting a bum." I'm sure it was an ignorant fan, but is this say the equivelant of Tellingman vs. Igor?

Rachman was a legitamite contender and was considered a top 10-15 fighter by most unbiased rankings he certainly was not a bum not like Buster Douglas/Tyson. The anouncer's said it was the 4th biggest upset in heavyweight boxing. Rachman had two losses a BS loss to Tua who he was easily beating when he was hit after the bell at the end of the 9th round and was not given the 5 minute rest by the ref that is normal for being hurt by a major foul and te ref stoped it too quickly in the 10th. His other loss was to dangerous fringe contender Maskeav who he was also beating but in the eighth round he started slugging with him not respecting his power and got knocked right out of the ring. If anybody is a bum it is John Ruiz who is definatly a paper champion.

As for Lewis being cocky, he is pretty humble when you compare him to such a trash talker like Hamed. But Lewis was definatly overconfident ging into this match and he did not take Rachman seriously.

Lewis is a good fighter, although he lacks a good chin and he may not have the heart of some of the other boxers. He was given the HBO build up, just like Michael Grant had been given. HBO gets a fighter's name on a contract and then they start convincing the public that this fighter is one of the all time greats. Anyone who follows boxing knew that neither Lewis nor Grant was a great fighter. Both were tall and athletic. That caused some problems for some fighters. Tall fighters usually have stamina problems and they usually give up something in quickness. I suspect that the Klitchkos will be the same. One or both might become a champion, but not an all time great. Both have already been beaten by fighters who are not considered top contenders.

                    Lewis was a 15-1 favorite.
Can't say as though I'm surprised a great deal.. a bit,
but I'll give it to Lewis in the obligatory rematch.
Puts Lewis vs Tyson on hold for a while... probably at least a year.

Is this a bit of a pattern? Overconfident champion fighting abroad and not properly adjusting to jet lag, altitude, training schedule, etc.:

-Ali over Foreman in Zaire (considered big upset at the time)
                      -Douglas over Tyson in Tokyo
                      -Rahman over Lewis in SA

                      Any other examples?

                        Stuss vs. his numerous victors.

-He had to hitchhike from his trailer to the venue.
-7-11 ran out of favorite Hostess snack cakes
-The promoter forgot his name. Again.
