And by that I mean to understand and follow sports: football, basketball, baseball, boxing, soccer, hockey, MMA, etc. A female friend of mine said that although she hates it when her boyfriend is constantly watching sports, it'd be WEIRD if he didn't at all... like it'd be "un-manly." So are we expected to know at least ONE sport?

For instance, I understand many of the rules of boxing and K-1 - but do not have the time to follow more of the fighters like I used to and that's fine, but this is a sport that few females really care to know about, so it doesn't amount to much.
I enjoy watching college foosball and pro baseball as well. Olympics too.

The only sport I really follow is college basketball & professional tennis, maybe watch an occational football game. And I'm straight. Golf is boring to watch. NBA hasn't been the same since THE Bulls (Jordon, Pippen, Grant, Kerr, Rodman, etc...) broke up so I don't watch BNA anymore. That was the team in the 90's. The Bulls were my team. Soccer sucks, all that running for 2 hours and the score ends up being one to nothing. To me thats boring to watch.

A few weeks ago there was a guy in line behind me at the cashier. He had a case of beer and really bad breath. He asked me who I wanted to win the super bowl... I had to admit I had no idea which teams were even playing.
I'm comfortable with my ignorance in the area of sports...
