Watching UFC right now....Matt Hughes vs Matt Serra thoughts

Just saw Hughes vs Serra. I was VERY surprised with the unanimous dec to Hughes. I couldn't imagine how it could have gone any other way than Serra winning Rounds 1 and 3. Also thought Hughes's only weapon was the takedown, he didn't do much besides earn a couple takedowns. Serra won the striking battle, attempted subs from the bottom, and got a takedown of his own at the end that he actually tried to capitalize on! I don't get it. It reminded me of the older UFCs when wrestlers used to lie down on top of their opponent for the whole fight and expect to win a decision. Total BS.
Should have gone to Serra.
Evans/Machida is about to start.

Yea, Serra got robbed. He rocked Hughes in round 1. Hughes won the second round 3rd round was close, but the deciding factor was Serra's counter-throw and he also landed good stirkes from the top after the throw.

that wasnt a legitimate "rock." he took a headbutt. and, i dont think hughes was just layin on him. he was throwin shots at him from on top.

it was an on the fence decision, though. i gave serra the first, hughes the second, and the third was up in the air. serra finished it strong, but i could see the argument that hughes still did most of the work that round.

any idea why he went southpaw tho? i was assuming because he planned to shoot, but there was little take down attempts by hughes.

cuz that was his best idea since telling a guy to come out on one knee for his whole fight. ( his advice to one fighter as a coach on TUF ). Matt's stong. Can't say he's the brightest guy I've ever seen on TV tho. I don't think Matt's driveway goes all the way to his garage if ya' know what I mean.

Stupid I can stand in short amounts, super high pitched Brooklyn accent coming out of the mouth of another moron, I cannot. I was rooting for Hughes.
