  • A Tribute to the Legend who is Frederick Ettish

On an earlier Post I mentioned that rumor has it Frederick Ettish was making a comeback. The martial arts world has waited almost six years for this triumphant moment, if this is true. As with many martial arts legends; Bruce Lee, Helio Gracie, etc... there are many mythical stories that circulate and can even take on a life of there own. We don't know if they are true or if they have been embelished through years of telling and retelling.

I would like to share with you a Fred Ettish story and I would also be interested in hearing any that you all out there might be willing to share.

It was a rainy and chilly night when Fred left the Ettish Academy. He had been working on learning to stand up during a fight again. As he was locking the door, out from the shadows came two very imposing figures. Fred, being an ex-junior high sprinter was able to safely out run the potential confrontation.

I spoke to Fred about this incident shortly after. He very carefully explained to me that the Toa of martial arts was to avoid conflict. He also revealed to me that when asked to compete in the UFC he was only trying to spread his 'non confrontational' philosophy with the whole Mixed Martial Arts World.

I forgot to mention that before Fred became committed to non-violent confrontations he had established a street fighting record of 501 strait victories, eclipsing Rickson's by one fight. He said he would consider street fighting again if Rickson happens to surpass Fred in the Future.

        Sweepem:

I throw visual daggers in your general direction!!!

I refuse to allow a few sour grapes spoil this tribute to Fred Ettish. When I stand up for Fred, I'm standing up for all the great fighters who never had a legitimate shot at fame.

I am proud to support Teila Tuli, Ranger Greg Stott, and the one we all know and love, the awsome Pakua-Chan Striker; Thomas Rimerez. All these men strike fear in the hearts of their opponents. All I'm trying to do is keep their spirit alive.

So if any of you want to take shots at me thats fine. I'm an easy target. I was always a chubby, funny looking little kid. I was picked on until I was 30. It was at this time I found the ad for a self defense system at the back of one of my comic books. Let me assure all of you, I DON'T GET SAND KICKED IN MY FACE ANY MORE!!!!

How can you forget Ashida Kim, Frank Dux and Master Hans Bristol? Each a legend in their own right.

Sweepem you have to be kidding me. I have never been on a making fun of fighters kick. I have never contributed to the bashing of Fred Ettish. I don't troll. I am in a band, I only have enough time to make jerkish remarks to other forum members not create fake interviews, thats for the real losers out there.

                      Patterson:

If I am a loser in your eyes, I am evidently on the right track in life.

Thank you Sir for the affirmation.

Yeah, making fictional interviews to attempt to amuse people on an online forum is on the right track buddy.

                              I completely agree Patterson!

Anyone who would make up a fictional interview with a fighter is a complete loser with too much time on his hands!

                              Oh, wait. Damn!
