The vacant expression & potentially very low IQ of the MMA practitioner
I saw the Forrest Griffin/Stephan Bonnar fight tonight. The one that supposedly saved the UFC and put MMA on the map in the US. I saw it once before and thought nothing of it but I paid close attention this time because that fight supposedly was the turning point. It was slightly more refined than a toughman contest. They just slugged it out on their feet for 15 minutes and bloodied each other up. They both showed a lot of heart, but not that much skill.
Forrest got kind of lucky in his UFC career and Stephan got kind of unlucky, just like the result of that fight (which was really pretty even). It makes me realize why I liked PRIDE so much better. I think American fans don't really appreciate groundfighting/grappling, especially the whole submission game. Call me crazy but I enjoyed Anderson Silva vs Thales Leites more than Bonnar/Griffin. Silva and Leites are two skillful guys who avoided each other's strengths, unfortunately neither was able to get the fight where he wanted it. I'd rather see that than the Bonnar/Griffin toughman contest.
Most stupid American fans want to see standup brawling, not strategy.
well i guess if you call them stupid then i guess then yes they just want to see brawling and don't even care about strategy. I guess if they are smart then they would want to see some strategy and a game plan of sorts.
MMA guys - well, how dumb do you get??
Vacant expression (as regards the original post in this thread) absolutely, an incredible bunch of morons
Probably true, well said, its funny to see above so many people with petty little minds that just cannot face or accept the real truth of a situation and who have been so brow beaten by the relentless brainwashing and enforcing of political correctness & the likes by the main stream media.
As for the OP, damn good to see someone who posts the truth, shame on the wimps above who just can't cope with it, perhaps they should run to their moms and ask for some candy.
Well my beauties, I was recently looking at some of the sheer dumb looking smucks that seem to be attracted to the MMA arenas, now certainly not all but so many of these guys seem to seriously have something missing about them, by this I mean a seriously vacant sort of expression, a primitive demeanor.
Now in the case of the short half pint type of guys standing around 5 ft, I guess it's a chip on the shoulder or just an inferiority complex but just whats with the normal & tall sized fighters??
Does it take a low IQ to compete in these sports like MMA/UFC etc..??? or am I wrong and there are plenty of really bright, non ape type good guys in the sport???
There are quite a few UFC fighters who were previously teachers, network admins, sociolgists, mathematicians. Large numbers of them hold 4 year degrees in various fields.
One of our amateur fighters has an Accounting degree, another is getting a Sports Fitness degree.
MMA as a sport is populated by a good mix of people both educated and uneducated, intelligent and not so intelligent. The same as most other sports.
