Interesting article. As a cop myself though, a trained person in any style is of concern. But what is more concerning is the level of intent, aggression and all out nuttiness that anyone can possess. That is much more of a concern.

It's no different than in Japan during the 1800s, when Jiu Jitsu was used pervertedly by crooks. I do notice a high trend of MMA propaganda everywhere and nowadays, just about everyone and their dog has trained in it.

My best friend and training partner is a certified police combatives instructor. Check out the link L.O.C.K.U.P. :: Welcome to LOCKUP. I've had an opportunity to to watch (via dvd) some of the program contents. It's primarily Kempo Based, with Jiu Jitsu, only these guys are superior in their ability. Lt. Kevin Dillon did a great job assembling this program, and it's no nonsense.
