  • WWF question?

I'm wondering about some of the fighters from the old WCW that have been absent since Vince McMahon bought the WCW. Does anyone know what happened to Goldberg, Kevin Nash and Scott "Big Poppa Pump" Steiner? Are there any plans to have them show up in any future WWF storylines? I think Goldberg and Steiner would add a great stroyline/feud to the WWF/WCW/ECW stories.

Also, what's with the rumors of Tank Abbot making an NHB comeback? He was a special guest at the 8-man Heavyweight Superbrawl Tournament that Josh Barnett won in Honolulu about 2 yrs ago and Tank looked in very good shape. He had lost his big gut then, but he may have gained it all back now that he's not wrestling anymore.

Even though WWF bought the WCW, Steiner's/Nash's/Goldberg's contracts with Turner are still good. Which basically means that all three of them are sitting at home collecting their millions until their contract with Turner expires. All the WCW employees were given a "buyout" option where they could take something like 30% of their contract, quit WCW, then start working for WWF. But obviously, the major players decided not to excercise this option.

      Thanks Jared,
Do you also know when their contracts are up? Since they were the top money earners in the WCW, they did the smart thing. But I bet McMahon will start courting them whenever their contract expirations start getting closer.

I don't know how long specifically the contracts are, but wrestling contracts aren't usually longer than 2 or 3 years. As for McMahon courting them, that might not be such a sure thing. Nash and Steiner have been known to have huge egos and get into fights with other wrestlers backstage. Goldberg refused to work some angles with wrestlers in the lower card while in WCW (Jericho). Vince McMahon won't tolerate any of this crap. For instance, everyone wants Shawn Michaels back. Shawn wrestled in the last year, is healthy, and still under WWF contract. So why isn't he wrestling? Because he did a shoot where he blasted Rocky and Austin basically saying how they didn't deserve their fame. McMahon only signs team players that have the good of the company in mind, not just themselves.

I heard that Scott Steiner had some kind of injury that was going to require surgery and he was going to be out for a while. That was why they had him lose to Booker T on the last WCW show, so T could carry the WCW title into the Invasion angle while steiner is recovering. I also heard that they got rid of Nash because he was just too damn old and there was some bad blood when he left the WWF for WCW.

Actually, Shawn Michaels was being brought back. The reason he is not being used is because he showed up to either Raw or Smackdown and got pissed when he wasn't used. then at the next TV, he showed up and immediately went to sleep with a cap over his face. Linda Mcmahon found him asleep and he was later sent home probably for good. They felt it set a bad example for other wrestlers in the locker room.
Flair and Nash's contracts are up in early 2002.
If they gave Bagwell a shot, they'll give anyone a shot.
