  • Can it be? UFC finally moving into the mainstream?

In the latest AdWeek: an article about how Carmen Electra (hubba hubba) has been signed on as a celebrity pitchwoman for the UFC... ads are scheduled to appear in Maxim and Stuff with her and other models appearing on the fighters arms.

This was in reference to the upcoming September bout in Vegas.

Yikes, UFC even has an ad agency.

I guess these new guys (owners) are serious!

I think this is great news because under SEG, the UFC was going nowhere. Now with Zuffa running the UFC, I think the sky is the limit because not only are they determined to make the UFC a household name, but more importantly they have the cash to do it.

I got my new Maxim in the mail yesterday. There is a whole page ad for the UFC in there. It was the pic with Tito, BJ Penn, Carlos Newton, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell and Pedro Rizzo standing around Carman Electra.

I am hoping in the future that rules will be slowly taken off as the UFC regains their popularity.

          A-men, Yella ...

          I certainly hope so ...

Might make it (and this forum) interesting again ...

The PERFECT rules in my eyes are the rules that PRIDE has but also allow elbows.

              re

They need to be careful about taking the rules off.

I would very much like to see it be a no rules contest again, but as long as idiots like John McCain are around they will have a hard time keeping it on cable without the rules.

UFC is basically competition to boxing. Boxing is well established, and has lots of money (and the odd Senator, or two) behind it.

What really burns me is McCain was at a boxing match were a guy was killed (I forget the fight), and still has the nuts to call NHB fights dangerous.

McCain pisses me off. Only a buffoon would think that taking several hundred punches to the head is safer then getting caught in an armlock. How anyone can vote for a guy who spent several years in a tiny bamboo cage is beyond me. The mental damage is obvious.

Actually, I find it quite character building to spend extended periods locked in a small bamboo cage. You Americans are weak!
