Did you all see the new Promo for the Reality Superfighting 5 (New Blood Conflict) MMA Tournament on 27 Oct 2001? Din Thomas, the reigning lightweight champ, will have a "special" match against Johnny Knoxville, the guy from MTV's Jackass show. Johnny is a cool dude and a I love the show, but I don't think he has any business getting into the ring w/ a Pro such as Din. Either he'll get KOTFO and may need serious medical attention and this will bring a bad light to the sport.....or.....it'll be a Vitor Belfort-Joe Charles type fight, under the guise of a real MMA fight. Any thoughts???

Also, in the Dec 2001 issue of MuscleMag on page 295, pro bodybuilder Craig Titus reports that he kicked the ass of a UFC competitor during an altercation in a parking lot. Any idea if this story is true and if so, who was the UFC competitor? I wonder if they used UFC in refernence to any MMA fighter? Who knows.

    Thanks all,
    MEB Boy

Something tells me Din will just beat the hell out of him but not seroiusly injure him.

Did they take Jackass off the air? That show was amazing. I never needed to do an ab workout that day because I would laugh so hard.

Yeah, I figured it'll be more of an exhibition match, where Din will toy with him and then submit him. But if it is as such, I hope they don't label it as a true MMA fight.

So did anyone hear which UFC competitor Craig Titus beat up?
By the way, what's Joe Son been up to?

What did you all think about Marcelo Tigre's 3rd MMA disqualification in Pancrase? When I saw he was fighting again, I was going to bet he'd be disqualified again.....and I know I ain't no damn prophet, but it sure did happen.

If you read his interview in Full Contact fighter he admitted he would not obey the chosen rules for any fight he was in. He was proud of the fact that he intentionally head butted "Cabbage", his opponent in the last Superbrawl. So why would any promoter want to take a chance with him in a MMA fight?

In his fight w/ Egan Inoue, Tigre repeatedly spit a moutful of blood and saliva straight into Egan's face several times. It was so much saliva and blood (b/c Egan punched Marcelo's face in throughout the 1st round) it looked like he was spitting out his mouthwash after a nice morning rinse. All the fans at ringside were disgusted, but he continued doing it even after being warned.

Now if this Pancrase fighter has irriversible eye (cornea/retina) damage from Marcelo's repeated eye gouging, the fighter and/or the Pancrase organization (in the fighter's behalf) should sue him and take eveything he's got.

Then again, I'd love to see him against either Vanderlai Silva or Alan Goes in a no rules MMA fight (only eye gouging disallowed). Since Tigre repeatedly says he'll fight outside of the rules for his MMA fights, we could even have Vanderlai and Goes both attack him at once, and they wouldn't even be disqualified for that.
