  • Better to work out more or less?

Is it better to work out, 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday) or is it better just to do it everyday (minus Saturday)? By this, I'm talking about running 1 mile and working biceps, triceps, upper/lower back, lats, and abs. Or, should I run everyday and do weightlifting 3 times a week or should I also only run 3 times a week? Thanks for any advice.

BTW update: I have noticed some difference in my waist size. My pants are pretty much falling down, which is a great thing, but I'm still far from my goal, but at least I'm seeing slight improvement! Plus, the muscles in my legs are bulging (I'm running alot so I'm seeing some results faster in my legs than anywhere else).

My friends tell me that it's good to let your muscles rest.

So you should emphasize upper body one day and lower body the next, if you plan on working out all the time.

I'm sure other trainers and more knowledgeable people here will give you more detailed advice.

      great work.

Keep up the job man, great work! You just gotta keep doin what your doin, watch your diet, and everything will work for you! Just remember to be patient, it won't be easy, but it'll be worth it. You just have to remember that its a lifestyle change, people lose weight then gain it back because they revert back their old unhealthy lifestyle or eating habits. Keep on truckin.

          I am a CPT bro.
The American Council on Exercise Manual (which was put together by the top people in the fitness industry (ieDoctors, sports trainers and the like)
reccommends that one work cardio daily to try to get your Heart Rate working at a target rate for your age for a set time. This will have optimum benefits. Running is good for that, but there are other methods too.
Strength Training -Muscle groups when weight training on the other hand should not be worked daily because they need time to recover. It is best to work differnt body areas such as chest one day legs another day and wait approx 3 days before working that group again.
It depends on what you are attempting to acheive also- Your post implies that weight is a problem. In addition to a daily cardio program to burn off fat, one MUST have a proper diet- See a clinical dietician that understands your goal and they will hook you up with a legit nutritional plan to speed up your weight loss without compromising health.
          Hope this helps peace Out
