  • A few MMA questions?

I was wondering if anyone had any info on a few topics:

    a. There was supposed to be a tournament called Ultimate Pankration in Nov 2001 and Marco Ruas was supposed to make his comeback fight. Did Marco fight, who was his opponent and what was the outcome?

    b. Rob "Razor" McCullough was going to fight Danny "Hard As" Stelle in the same event. This was to be the MMA debut of both these world class muay thai fighters. Did they fight and who won?

    c. What's your thoughts on Chris Monson, a fighter out of Matt Hume's school? I know he recently beat Cacareco, I believe, and in the only fight I've seen of him is when he totally dominated Dave Menne in every aspect and won the decision. Monson weighs in the mid 190's I believe and Menne also came in at 190 or so and that's probably the heaviest he's fought at. Is Monson ready for other big time events and what's his overall record like?

    d. What's next for Rich Franklin? He's still undefeated and has a KO win over Gary "The Bear" Myers and an armbar win over Marvin Eastman. I believe he fights at about 215 lbs or so. If this is so, would he be able to make the 205 lightheavy weight bracket and if so how would he do?

Thanks all and major props goes out to Josh Barnett for another awesome UFC performance. He always goes for the win and is very active. I'd like to see him against Ricco Rodriguez w/ the winner taking on Couture. Keep up the hard work Josh!

Marco Ruas faced Jason Lambert a big wrestler who outweighed him by 40 pounds I think and Ruas won by sub.

Rob McCullough took apart an outmatched Steve Wagner in a fight that was supposed to be the co-main event. Wagner replaced Danny Steele after it was learned that the Muay Thai star injured his groin in training. McCullough, a training partner of Tito Ortiz, hurt Wagner with a right hand-roundhouse to the body combination. Referee Andy Anderson could have, and should have called the fight right there, but he didn't and after more punishment Wagner's corner finally threw in the towel.

    Dont really know Chris.

    Dont really know Rich

And finally Josh should be the #1 contender he as waited a long time and face a lot of good fighter so its is time to get a chance againts the champ.

      Thanks,
I'm suprised I have not seen any results or updates about Ruas's fight. Also, the injury of Steele has got to be a big disappointment to MMA fans. I truly wished I could have seen McCullough vs Steele. I wonder if it would have been a standing war or if it would have gone to the ground. Lastly, I agree about Josh being the #1 contender. He also has an armbar victory over Dan Severn and his second victory over Bobby Hoffmann was much more decisive then the first, and he's a cool guy.
