  • guillitine from side mount

ok, once again...i;ll say that i'm relatively new to this forum and Gjj/Bjj but i was wondering......
ok, here's the deal...i usually will get a side mount on my opponet because of my former wrestling skills, but when i do they hook my head in almost a guilitine choke. This doesn't tap me out or anything, but it is really annoying and keeps me from mounting them. I was wondering if there is any defense/counter to this move?
pics and websites would be helpful too
    thanks

Spin around into "north-south" and then to the other side; if his arm is still around your head by that point, he's set himself up for several armlocks. Besure to maintain chest pressure to keep him down, and don't let him follow you with his hips.

thanks for the reply......i'll try this next time and see what happens

north-south position is kinda new to me, i did a search on it and came up with some judo positions.....i think i got the basics down.

Lately, i've been the guy to talk to about Gjj/Bjj in my town. I've had several offers for fights around here (and yes, i've accepted more than one...all with victory)

ask your instructor. there is a technique to escape the guillotine where you drive your shoulder into your opponent's neck from the sidemount and force him to release the guillotine. any instructor should be able to show you the specifics.
