Martials is something that has waves of popularity sometimes contactsports are popular sometimes the traditional arts ( including the clasical weapon arts)
We never had this grow in Karateschools after the karatekid, nor all kinds of KF schools popping up after the KF series (David Caradine)
There are a lot of instructors that do not make a living out of it, that teach at clubs ( as oposed to commercial schools)
You won't find any franchises here either
It's hard to make a living out of MA, asking outragious prices won't do here because people just do not have the money for it ( average wage 20.000 euro per annum, minimum about half of that)
I've seen pictures of karate matches were someone scores with what was called a backfist but he was only hitting with the fingertips ( to get closer)
scoring this nonsence, is what set in the decline

put it this way. when we talk about karate sucking, we mean the majority of the ma's population, not every single person. sure a bjj'er can have a bad day and get ko'd before the fight hits the ground. say there were 100 martial artists in a gym, 50 were BJJ black belts and 50 were karate black belts(hehe), any form. one match at a time they fought til the end bjj against karate, and you had to bet a "million dollars" rather the money was yours to begin with or not, who would you place your money on? be honest now you Daniel Laruso fans, be honest.

HOW DO YOU THINK MARTIAL ARTS CHANGED FROM 80'S TILL NOW?
that a lot of fake kungfu instructors commented by non-kungfu arts as stupid kungfu's.....
that Karate as of now adding some kungfu moves like "butterfly kick" to add karate's arsenal - also in Tae Kwon Do.
Karate and Tae Kwon Do in the 80's is not consider as a good martial arts As more years added and up to now - karate and tae kwon do is more stupid....

Only KungFu are the best, and Karate / Tae Kwon Do is the worst!!!!
hope you convinced by that......
