Hi all,
Sorry if this is not the right place to write a post like this, but there's so many different forums!
Anyway I am new to the board and hope to exchange ideas with some knowledgeable people about Mixed Martial Arts. Like so many people of my age group (a rather elderly 38) I started in Karate but never found a style that made me feel genuinely confident to work in a real fight. I also tried Wing Chun, a "staged" version of Jiu Jitsu (i.e. no free fighting, all fancy set pieces) and Thai Boxing. I tried 3 different Thai clubs, but each of the intstructors were very poor.....
I have now found an old Karate friend of mine who has developed well in the last few years, and I am trained by him. He is qualified to teach JKD, Thai Boxing, Erik Paulson's Combat Submission Wrestling and holds a 4th Dan Grade in Shukokai Karate (not that we do alot of that). Check out his web site, www.maxt.co.uk
Thats me, heres hoping I can contribute as well as learn.
