  • How hard is to actually train under a Gracie or Machado?

After looking at a number of Gracie and Machado websites, its seems like they are very busy traveling around the world making money by giving seminars. With all the traveling and seminars, when do they have a chance to teach their students? Is it a situation where they are the "chief" instructor, but you will primarily learn from one of the assistant instructors. I am not knocking the assistant instructors , but if I am paying to learn Graci J.J. I would like to actually learn from a Gracie.

I can't speak for other places, but Carlos Machado teaches the majority of the classes (including beginner) at his school in Dallas. Or at least the times I have been there.

Anyone in OC should come out to train at Ralph Gracie's. It's a great place to train. Classes are at 7:00pm to 9:00pm M-F and 10:00am - 12:00noon on sat. On thursday night we have a wrestling coach teach us take downs. The best aprt about it is there is a free introductory lesson so u can come and try it out. So for any iformation contact me brad13x@aol.com or go toRalph Gracie OC:
