Ground Control: we both agree that the Sak has an advantage due to factors such as short notice, time zone and logistics. of all the factors that play an important role in giving Sak an advantage (and i agree with you that sak has an advantage), i don't think fan support is one of them. fan support in Japan wouldn't make any noticeable difference on the fighters, BUT the other factors mentioned above would make the difference and still give Sak an advantage. I apologize for not clearing that up. I was not saying Japanese support for foreign fighters nullifies Sak's homecourt advantage. Anyways, i respect the opinion of anyone who competes, and give props to anyone who fights in a foreign land.

for my 2 cents, I think Shamrock would win by ref stoppage due to severe pounding. I think it's unlikely he'll submit sak; If Guy Metzger, Carlos Newton, Renzo and Royce Gracie couldn't, Shamrock's odds are slim. Like Ronin said Shamrock is a better striker and probably in better shape than Sak. However, there is nothing like experience, Sak's been active while Frank's greatest opponent might be ring rust. I haven't seen the new, improved Ortiz, so i have no opinion there.

      dave:

I agree that Sak is no "walk around" as you put it. In fact, if Frank doesn't show up at 100% or underestimates Sak, there is a good chance he could get caught just like Renzo did.

Frank and Sak are the two best fighters in the world, IMO. It could go either way.
